Mr. Andrew Lockett-Farrar Legacy Fund
Mr. Farrar grew up on his family farm in Mecklenburg County where his love of agriculture began. Upon entering high school, Andy eagerly enrolled in vocational agriculture courses and joined his New Farmers of America (NFA) chapter. As an active NFA member, Andy participated in contests at the local, state and national level. Andy received both his Honorary State and American FFA Degree in 1977 for being an outstanding agriculture teacher and advisor. Additionally, he was recognized with the Regional and National NVATA Sound Off for Agriculture with the NFA Distinguished Service Award for his work as an international exchange host family. Mr. Farrar has served his community, Virginia Department of Education, and the FFA & NFA professionally from 1961 until his retirement in 1991.
